Here is a video with some very basic tips on shooting videos for Indies just starting out.

Thanks for the tips. I recently bought a Kodak video camera (forgot the model) but it's the only one that was inexpensive with a mic jack. It works great!
A lot of my vids are shot by me, with the camera on a tripod. Because my cam is inexpensive, if I hold a product in close, it's usually out of focus. So, if I am showing a products or demonstrating, I use still shots of the products I'm demonstrating or a still of the "after look" I'm demonstrating and edit them in with the video. That way, the product image is clear and listed with the name. This also gives the customer an easy opportunity to pause and jot down the name of the item they might want when they visit my site.
My main problem now is editing all the footage I've got...no time. Thanks again for the tips!

Thank you for the tips, Darryl.
Truthfully, I have a Flip camera that gathers dust. I am going to add the video capability to my blog and experiment with the camera.

So glad this is here. Thank you Darryl, found it just in time for my 1st venture into video land aka YouTube.
