Yesterday, my husband and I planned to go hiking at Muir Woods in California. We forgot it was tourist season and Muir Woods was crowded with no place to park. We changed our plans and headed up to Stinson Beach.
The weather at Stinson Beach was hot with blue skies, a rarity for this area. The ocean water here is very cold, too cold for swimming unless it’s a hot day. Swimming was not on my plan and I didn’t bring a swimsuit. I love swimming in the ocean. The ocean is a powerful healing force. The water cools me and gets me out of my head. The salt water helps to cleanse and purify my body and take away negativity.
I sat on the beach watching everyone having fun in the water. I got really hot so I went wading. I walked deeper into the ocean wishing I had my swimsuit. A big wave came and I dove into the water. I swam in the ocean, clothes and all feeling pure bliss, contentment and joy. As I was getting out of the water with my soaking wet pants and t-shirt, two little girls were staring at me. They had the biggest smiles on their faces. I smiled back.
In business there are many times when we don’t dive into opportunity right in front of us. We think we need to wait until we acquire the appropriate tools. The flow of opportunity happens with awareness and is different than being swept away. When I dove into the ocean fully clothed, I did it with awareness. I knew how to swim and I had a change of clothes for going out to dinner with my husband. It was a conscious flow of opportunity. More and more I let go and don't resist and open to the abundance of opportunity right in front of me. What you resist really does persist. My business is shifting by letting go, letting be and letting in.
