Every single day I wake up and think to myself - "What is going to be my miracle today?" I meditate, and listen to beautiful music, and go through the steps of what I need to accomplish that day. I lay in my bed and think of all the adventure I'm going to have, even if it's just going to the grocery store, cleaning the house, going the chiropractor, or just doing the mundane things of every day life. I always think - what miracle is going to happen today? What great, unexpected thing is going to happen that is going to make me happy? Wow, it could be a compliment from someone I admire, or it could be a discount at the store that I didn't expect. It could be a new connection that I made on Facebook, that makes my day. It could be so many things.
But, the one thing that stays constant in my mind, is that a miracle is going to happen every day. In that way, my life becomes an adventure to see exactly what it's going to be. It could be that phone call I've been expecting, or forgotten about. Someone long ago, appears and still remembers me in a loving way.
The other day, it was my cousin Christina. She invited me to her nursing home where she is a stylist, and I went and set up my soy candles and my jewelry. I spent days working on beautiful Valentine Day's soy candles, complete with heart stickers, beeswax heart inserts, and sexy Valentine's Day scents. I was running late, from another appointment earlier in the day, and I got there 15 minute before it was suppose to start. Chrissy called me on my cell and told me they were waiting for me. She already had a large bag of my jewelry, and was putting it out on the table when I arrived.
I was surprised to see six ladies in their wheel chairs waiting for me and people grabbing at my candles & jewelry before I had time to properly set them out on the table or display. Then the staff came by, and I was inundated with questions - "What's this scent?"; "Do you have any more of this?"; and "What stone is this?".
My cousin Christina kept telling the ladies - "This is only $5 - isn't this great?" She was my biggest fan, and the greatest sales person for my crafts. I was overwhelmed and grateful that she believed in my abilities so much. She also kept saying "My cousin made this by hand!".
The other blessing was that the ladies were so beautiful to talk with. They told you about their children, their grandchildren, upcoming birthdays, and what would make a nice gift for this one, or that one. One lady ended up telling me all about her daughter losing twins in her eighth month of pregnancy two years ago, and now she is currently pregnant with another set of twins. She kept telling me that her daughter is blessed.
I spent two hours at the nursing/rehabilitation home, and sold more than any of the fall/Christmas shows last year. And to top it off, the people at the nursing home aren't even allowed to burn candles, or even use candles on candle warmers. It was mainly the staff buying the candles, but it was such an affirmation for me that they were well received. Even with the jewelry, I couldn't believe how much they liked my necklace earring sets, and the inexpensive earrings - both for pierced ears and clip-ons.
The biggest miracle that day was the experience of my cousin Christina promoting me to all the ladies and the staff. I was floored. She had relationships with all of these ladies because she styles their hair, and knows all the staff, because she'll go get them from their rooms, and bring them to the salon. There was a real love connection going on with everyone, and I was sitting back taking it all in. It was a really beautiful experience, and I'll never forget it.
That was my miracle for the day. So what is yours going to be?
