Wax on, wax on...

Steven Borden is our compliance manager here at EW&L and his many years’ experience in the natural products industry are always coming in handy for those of us much newer to the field. We wanted to introduce waxes as another class of ingredients, just like we did with our butters article, but soon realized that waxes are quite a deep subject when it comes to cosmetics and personal care items, so this would take some planning and thought. It’s also important to note…

What if Email Didn’t Exist?

Everybody hates email, right? Aren’t you swamped? Don’t you feel overwhelmed knowing you’ll never be able to clear out your inbox? Complaining about email has become everyone’s favorite pastime – sure to find a sympathetic audience just about anywhere. Wasn’t it so much better before someone invented email?

Was it? Some people have romanticized memories of the good old days. Others are simply too young to have any first-hand knowledge. So let me describe what business was like…

The Wonderful World of Sourcing ~

One night last week, I was online looking for a gift for Mother’s Day and I mused at the ease I was able to navigate the many sites evaluating products, pricing and delivery options. I spent a total of 45 minutes comparing sites and narrowing choices…

Embracing Change: Measured and Gracefully

I seem to have conversations with petrol attendants often. Perhaps it’s my habit of filling up my tank in the late hours of night or early morning hours when attendants tend to be bored.

One night I had a lovely, intelligent and lively conversation with a very…

False Advertising; What's in a Name?

A few weeks ago I was getting my petrol pumped by a rather bored and talkative attendant. We somehow got onto the subject of superstition. I mentioned how I found it so odd that the USA was so superstitious that we had no floor #13 choice in elevators. He was alarmed. He couldn’t believe our…

A Misty Day in Seattle

This is the kind of weather I love the most, I think.  Three days ago it was bright and sunny and warm.  Which was great for a day or two.  But today is soft gray with misty rain, exactly my dream of Seattle.

I've been calling my time in Los Angeles my "twenty-one-year hot flash."  The past four years have been a hard road through a very sad and difficult period in my life.  Leaving LA a year ago was the best thing I could have done.  Getting re-established here has been slow…

ZigMail

Here is a nifty way to organize your email. Redirect your receipts, daily deals and other non-correspondence email to ZigMail. Although I haven't used this service yet, what interests me is its ability to get those clutter-creating "commercial" emails out of my inbox so I can focus on the ones I need to act on right now!

ZigMail doesn't replace your primary email; it works with it. ZigMail…

how evolutionary changes impact copywriting and online marketing

As you well know from the personal and planetary shifts unfolding in your life right now, things are a-changin' in BIG ways. With these changes come the natural evolution of language, copywriting and marketing approaches that better capture and emanate higher frequencies.

As you navigate the current shifts within your heart- and service-based business, more than ever before you will find yourself leaning over the edge of the abyss; that which is completely unknown. From this…

Peace Amidst Swirling Change

One of the most precious gifts to awaken me to its presence is that of peace… specifically peace amidst swirling change.

As a luminary or evolutionary entrepreneur, you are likely experiencing massive shifts. To this point, the reliable constructs of your life have provided you a sense of security. Whether they have been constructs of relationship, home, income, family, or health, along with many other healers and lightworkers, you are…

Want to get things done? Forget about to-do lists!

Do you have a to-do list? How many items are on it? Do you feel like you’ll never finish it? Do you think if you just got organized enough you could get everything done?

Don’t count on it.

Why? Because we have lives that are already busy. We can’t stop doing all the usual things to squeeze in those new things on our list. And how many of us discover after our daily routine that we have extra time we don’t know what to…

Jojoba Rarity: The Ongoing Saga

It has been nearly two years since jojoba oil was declared in global shortage. At the time, we thought the problem would clear up in six months to one year, but here we are and things are not much better. Jojoba continues to be in distressingly short supply. When it does become available the cost is…
