Nice to meet another Oregonian on here. I was born in Oregon City and lived in various parts of the state until I was 12 years old, then back off and on to visit my dad, grandparents, aunts and cousins. I miss the mountains, the ocean, the camping and of course the family.
My 87 year old grandmother still lives in Salem and was just here for a visit with my dad and new step-mother. We took them to visit DeSmet, SD, a town 40 miles from us where Laura Ingalls Wilder grew up in her teen years and lived for her early adult life. Grandma, Mama-Sharon and I all enjoyed ourselves emensely, but I think my dad got bored with touring muesums, schoolhouses etc after a while. This famous pioneer woman should be an inspiration to all of us modern-day pioneering women who struggle to juggle family, home, work, faith and make a way for ourselves in business.
