How to Market a Local Craft Show

I participate in a number of local craft shows in the Houston area. I make soy candles and design jewelry products. I've been selling my crafts in local craft shows for about seven years now. I use to think getting accepted in a local show (which can be challenging) was the trick to selling my crafts. Getting in the show is just the first part. Getting the show advertised, marketed and bringing the right audience to the show is even more important. Here are my top priorities on how organizers…See More

"Great post, Laureen!   I especially love the reminder that a website is not longer solely a sales tool. The shopping cart is secondary. If a website does not provide ways for people to learn new things, be entertained, and pave the way for them…"

How To Market A Craft Show So You Can Make More Money

As most of you know, I participate in a number of arts and craft shows during the fall holiday season. I make beautiful soy candles, jewelry and I also sell my wonderful DVD “The Art of Soy Container Candle Making.”

Since I’m also a CPA by trade, I volunteered to help the local “Nutcracker Shoppe” with the Finance Director position, and also with internet marketing. I sat down with one of the long-time members, and worked on how to design a new website for them. We determined how… Continue

Everyday Miracles

Every single day I wake up and think to myself - "What is going to be my miracle today?" I meditate, and listen to beautiful music, and go through the steps of what I need to accomplish that day. I lay in my bed and think of all the adventure I'm going to have, even if it's just going to the grocery store, cleaning the house, going the chiropractor, or just doing the mundane things of every day life. I always think - what miracle is going to happen today? What great, unexpected thing is going… Continue

Greetings and Welcome to our website!

I'm so glad you're here! There are lots of fun and exciting things to do and people to meet. Here are a few suggestions to get you started. First please understand that joining this site does not make you a member of the Indie Beauty Network. You are our welcome guest here, but if you want to join the Indie Beauty Network, a membership application and annual membership dues are required. You can find out more at our flagship website at this link: http://www.indiebeautynetwork.com/channel-ibnyou/join.asp. Now, more ways to use this site and connect to people who are member of IBN!

First of all, we are currently advocating against the FDA Globalization Act of 2009, a bill introduced into Congress this week which would put decimate the handmade, independent and artisan cosmetics industry. Please visit this site often and subscribe to my blog for updates.

Here are some fun things you can do at this site!

- If you have not already done so, please add your photo and your real first and last names to your Profile Page. We mean business here at Indie Beauty and we want to know who we're doing business with! To help us connect and do business, please do not use a product photo for the picture of you in your Profile Page.

- Check out the IBN Member Branded Company Pages where you can learn all about IBN members and the products and services they offer. If you see something you like or have questions about a product, a service or a class you'd like to take, send a message to introduce yourself! If you're a member, you can create your own Branded Company page!

- Enjoy some informative blog posts and add your thoughts, questions and comments.

- Check out the most recent recorded version of Indie Cafe and the chat stream that goes along with it. You're welcome to join us LIVE at Indie Cafe (most) Monday nights at 10:00pm EST for a time of uplift and empowerment that gets the week off to a great start!

- Enjoy some of the entertaining videos that IBN members have posted to inform you about the fantastic things they are doing in their lives and their businesses.

- Please take a look at our site Terms of Use which helps us present a uniform and professional place for you to network. And feel free to read our About Page to learn more about the Indie Beauty Network, how it got started, what it's mission is and how IBN and its members can serve you!

And of course if you wish to join the Indie Beauty Network, there's information about that in our About page too!

- And last but not least, if you like it here, please tell a friend by clicking the phrase under the link to the right that says: "Are You Having Fun??!" This will open up your Twitter page so you can share the fun with people you know.

Oh! And if you're on Twitter, I'd like to connect with you there so please follow me and I'll follow you back!

Warm up, make some friends, connect and collaborate!

On behalf of the hundreds of members of the Indie Beauty Network, I want you to know that we are glad you are here. Please do not hesitate to call on me or any IBN member to let us know how we can serve you.
