Season 2 of Shark Tank to air in Jan - what inventors can learn to launch their product business

Hey inventors....

As you may know, season 2 of Shark Tank is set to air this January. After the first season and a lot of cool products, the invention world is excited to see who will become famous or infamous for their unique invention and the deals they strike with the sharks.

Having been working with Kevin Harrington, the Infomercial King who is one of the sharks (the guy with the spiky blondish hair for those that often want to be sure which one is Kevin) for much of this… Continue

Is your product suitable for an infomercial?

Over the past few months as the VP of Product Development for Kevin Harrington from the hit ABC show Shark Tank, I have seen literally hundreds of interesting and often really amazing products. The great

ideas arrive here daily...but deciding which ones are the most

appropriate for infomercials. What am I looking for?

- Products that have a "wow" factor and are truly unique

- Pricing is important - for a 2 min infomercial the price needs to be 19.99 or…

Commission only reps or in-house salespeople - which are the best to hire?

INDEPENDENT SALES REPS OR IN-HOUSE SALES EMPLOYEES – which are most effective??

Deciding between hiring independent sales representatives and in-house sales people can be a difficult decision to make. On one hand, bringing on

independent reps is a free way to get the sales cycle started. You

have no financial commitments, no salaries, no benefits…

Heading to NYC for Toy Fair...here is how I prepare for a show

As I get ready for my trip to NYC for Toy Fair this weekend, I am reminded of the many things I have to do before I head out. Granted, I am not exhibiting but walking the show…and spending a lot of time in

the booth of Brainy Baby who I represent their great products to the

specialty retailers in the USA. Trade shows are one of the best

opportunities to meet up with retail store buyers, the media, and other

people who can help propel your business. This is why being…

The information you provide is invaluable and it has greatly helped me to further define my expansion. Especially as I go about earning new retail outlets and prepare for the move into larger and greater markets. I know there is a fee for any and all consulting work you do with members. How would one go about getting that information?

Hi Jim,

I love reading all of your comments!  You are a wealth of information!!

I am nervous just posting here!

I have had a desire to open an online retail store for years! I have finally started to really get going! However, I'm at a nervouse stage! My goal is to open an online retail that focuses on providing nothing but the best in quality and ingredients of Naturally made bath and body products! Which is why I LOVE this site so much.

I am just not sure how to go about reaching out to businesses as a start-up and become a great wholesale customer. I'm a start up and not sure what I should be looking for in ordering minimums and terms, and what to ask and how to ask the wholesaler about their products.  I have read many of the comments here and want to make sure I start out the right way!
