The discussions, blog posts, comments, photos, videos and other content shared here are designed to foster community, relationships, collaboration, learning and the sharing of knowledge and experiences that will help all of us be more successful. This is a place of fun and encouragement; a place where we can come to learn, and also to recharge in a supportive atmosphere.

Spam And Mass Emails

You cannot have a positive experience at a social networking site if you have to worry about getting spammed all the time. Please do not use this site to send mass emails to dozens or hundreds of people at one time. That is spammy, especially if you are promoting something or asking people to vote for you. The best way to use this site for business purposes is to develop relationships with people who can help you, and whom you can help. If you are a member of IBN (you can join here), you may add Events, Photos, Videos, etc. and feel free to send them to people who have joined your Group. As a benefit of membership, I will also feature your activities. Other than that, avoid behaving in a spammy way. Spammy behavior will be rewarded with a warning or two, followed by suspension if warnings are ignored.

Please Stay on Topic

The Discussion Forum at this site is categorized to make it easy for you to choose the best place to post your discussion. Please choose carefully so you can lead a helpful conversation.

As in real life, topic drift happens, but online, we must remember that we are creating conversations that people will read later. As a result, they need to be a bit more organized than in person conversations so people can come later and find what they are looking for. Please do what you can to stay on topic so the conversation flow can be maintained. If you cannot stay on topic, please start a new discussion. Please make every effort to post your discussion in an appropriate discussion forum so people can more easily find what matters most to them. The moderator reserves the change your choice of Forum designation so that it more properly reflects the subject matter.

Discussions vs. Blog Posts

Please take a moment before you post a blog post or a discussion to decide where it best fits. A blog post is usually your commentary on a topic of special interest to you, or on which you have a particular expertise. A discussion can be similar, but it usually it designed to ask people to share more of their opinions and ideas. There is obvious overlap, but please choose the best option.

Politics, Religion and Other Potentially Inflammatory Topics

Posts singling out religious or political groups will be deleted, as will posts that, at the discretion of the moderator, are designed to humiliate, embarrass, incite anger or be generally annoying.

Moderation

This site is moderated to maintain a safe, fun community. Sharing opinions is a part of the deal here, but all disrespectful and mean-spirited posts will be deleted and you will not always get notice of it. Spam of all kinds is strictly prohibited. The moderator is committed to removing all posts that do not comply with our site policies.
