Hi Klara!
The best thing to do is to go to the Discussion Forum and create a discussion letting people know some background about your question, and then asking it there. Choose the forum that is right for your topic. For example, if your question is about cosmetics laws, post it in the Cosmetics Regulation Forum. If it is about writing a business plan, post it in the Business Forum. If it is about how to use FaceBook, post it in the Social Media Forum. if your question doesn't fit perfectly into a forum, just think about where it fits best and choose that one.
You can see all of the Forum options here.
Thanks!

How do I post a question to the group?

Hello Margo, I'm not sure what Thursday calls you are talking about. We have calls usually on Tuesdays or Wednesday, but not Thursdays. Please send a link to what you are talking about so I can see it, and the reply.
Our Tuesday calls are usually via Indie Protege
http://indiebeauty.com/page/indie-protege-network
Our Wednesday calls are for Heart-To-Heart
http://indiebeauty.com/page/heart-to-heart-with-dm
Other calls for for Indie Beauty network members only and take place as announced.
If you have more questions, let me know.
Thanks!

Sherry,
The best place to ask a question (and find other questions previously asked and answered that will help you) about creating a brochure is in our Sales & Marketing Forum.
Thanks!

Yosilda,
Hi! Glad you're here, thanks for posting your question. (Loving the red hair!)
It's hard to answer your question in a vacume. The short answer is that it has become more challenging to learn everything you need to know to sell products over the Internet, but there are some great resources available to you and the Indie Beauty Network is one of the best of them. (You can see member benefits and join here.)
The longer answer is that, even though it's challenging, so is everything else worth having. To be the owner of your own business is the best feeling in the world. It gives you freedom, flexibility, independence in any economy, and it's a whole lot of fun. Entrepreneurship is a discipline and it requires a high degree of focus and concentration to create a business that is profitable for the long term. But IBN members are doing it every day, and with the resources we offer, and with other resources available online and offline, and in your own local community, you can do it.
If you're ready to roll up your sleeves in your business, you'll find no shortage of people who are ready to foll up theirs to help you be successful.
So, that's what I think, and I hope it's helpful.
The best place to post follow up questions is in our Discussion Forum where you can choose the category for your question to make it easier for people to converse with you.
Thanks,
dM

How difficult or easy has it been for others to sell their products over the internet?

Hi everyone. Hope to share much information with other indie companies.
Hello I am new to IBN. glad to join you all. I am trying to create a brochure for my herbal bodycare business and I dont have the slightest where to start. any Suggestions?
Comment by Lalli Meera on February 24, 2012 at 7:55am Hi everyone, I recently joined the IBN. I’m grateful for this opportunity to learn, share and grow with all of you. I was certified as an aromatherapist about eight years ago, but have never had an business. Yet, I love to mix my potions and share them, in various ways. For the holidays, I made some decorative M&P soaps that were well received by friends and family. Also, I have a love for natural body care products, and lately offered samples of a few to a small number of friends and acquaintances - a mini, informal market research project, of sorts.
Personal circumstances prevent me from "taking the plunge" of starting a business at this time. Yet, being part of the IBN allows me to join in with the good energy, as well as build a strong foundation if I do decide to create anything in the future. This week’s event that Donna Maria hosted, featuring Don Havery from the FDA, was so informative. Also, I’ve been listening to Donna Maria’s group coaching audios, as well as audios from her Indie Beauty University. I find her teaching and coaching very enriching. Much appreciation, Donna Maria!
Looking forward to connecting with Indie members and continuing on this journey with you all.
Hi! I am a new member--currently Protege until I can afford the full membership. Once I'm logged in, does your site recognize this, and giving me access to the benefits that I have with that membership?

Sharon, there are several ways to get traffic to your website. At the end of the day, the boil down to content marketing, that is, using content that interests your target customer to get their attention, engage with them, and develop a trust relationship so they buy from you with confidence and develop an emotional attachment ot your brand. That was a mouthful, I know. You can learn more in my Branded Content Strategy Coaching Program.
Glad it was helpful, Yolanda!
Karin, you need to be familiar with the FDA's cosmetics regulations. Please check out our Regulatory Resources Page. You came to the right place if you want to grow a business in the beauty industry! Welcome!
