Enjoy Your Life! Build Your Business! Have Your Way!

It seems one of the biggest headaches I have is writing good product content for my website. Does any one have a guide line they follow? I'm not really good @ creative writing. Suggestions?

Silence, nature, essential oil therapy and patience. It is hard for me to write any other way. Problem is the sound of silence is often deafening if you always have to have something coming in your ear gates. Please learn to enjoy the sounds of cars driving by, the steps of your family walking within your home, the birds singing outside your window and the tapping of your fingers on the keyboard.

If you are burning synthetic candles instead of inhaling God's creation in natural and pure essential oils through a diffuser or tissue therapy you are breathing in synthetics. If you want to write with a pure heart, use essential oils to help you mediate and finish your project.

Patience, and learning to backspace more than you write is a virtue. Don't be in a hurry. Inform your children and family that you love them, but when it is time to talk to the paper, that is what you have to do. The words and expression of your heart will manifest.

With Love.

Hi Cynthia
It's quite obvious you have a talent for being very creative. I may need to pay more attention to my surroundings. Very nice & thank you. You're very inspirational as well.
Take Care
Ric.
I am a bit late coming into this topic - but I just went through a the hiring process for a copywriter to help me with my website, help with my blog, product labeling, etc.

I posted an ad on Craig s List - received over 100 applicants. Long story short - there are a lot of very talented freelance writers out there looking for work just like this.

I wrote in my ad - I DO NOT HAVE A LARGE BUDGET, willing to negotiate, barter, trade.

I interviewed some candidates that were willing to do some of the work probono in exchange for allowing them to use it in their portfolio.
Thank you Sherri, I am still looking for some one to do this. I never thought to try that. Very good idea, I'm going to give it a try.
Thank You
Ric
Hi Ric,

My suggestion is to first find out the "key words" in your business that search engines pick up (I believe you can find these on Google Ad Words). This will show you what words generate the most traffic. These "key words" should be within the first few lines of your copy and if possible, on your banner as well. As an example let's say you make candles. Type in candles and see what "type" of candle is most searched for (bee's wax, scented, etc.) Work your copy around key words. If you don't have "key words" that search engines are scouting for, you won't have traffic.

Writing comes easy for me so I'm unsure how to give advice on "how to write" - and with that said, perhaps sit away from the computer and with pen and paper ask yourself relevant questions. Why I do what I do? What makes my brand unique? What are my values? Etc. You don't have to "write your story" at this point, one word is enough. Just get it out and don't worry about it being perfect. Don't edit yourself at this point. Somewhere along the way "your story" will unfold. And if this fails, once you have the "nuts and bolts" of your story, perhaps work with an editor? I work with one and she's wonderful - $35.00 an hour, she works fast and over the years we know each other (even though we've never met.) I mostly depend on my editor for grammar and "toning down my writing when I get to ramble on" ...

All the best,
Elise
