Enjoy Your Life! Build Your Business! Have Your Way!

Hi NYC Indies

Mark your calendar for November 19, 2011. We are going to have a wonderful presentation from Emma, who is the owner of Between You and the Moon.

BIO:

As a young girl, Marie-Emma Graves mixed beauty products and herbal medicine in the kitchen with her aunts. There were always fragrant herbs drying from the ceiling and a potion brewing on the counter. Emma began her skin care career with Estee Lauder (Origins Divison) in 1997. She then received her formal skincare training at Atelier Esthètique and was licensed as a Skin Care Specialist in the state of New York. She immediately accepted an apprenticeship under Ling Chan, guru of the deep pore cleanse and facialist of the stars. “Between you & the Moon” was formulated with the needs of New Yorkers who are looking for a better way of skincare. Simple and effective, Emma uses natural ingredients and a holistic approach. These products work with the skin to bring a radiant balance to the surface and let your natural beauty come through. “I recall sitting in these cosmetic chemistry classes and thinking about how strange it was that we use so many chemicals topically…we use a harsh detergent to strip the skin and then try to rebuild the surface with more chemicals…I knew there was a better way” she says. Emma participated in classes with Pratima Rachur to get a better understanding of Ayurvedic traditions & went on to receive her Herbalist Certification from Peeka Trenkle’s Green Medicine Program. Armed with the time-tested methods from her formal and world-wide education, Emma developed this unique skincare process of correct home-care and treatments to benefit all of her clients both inside and out.

Emma is graciously welcoming us into her home to and she is going to show us how she distills herbs to make hydrosols and oils that she uses in her products.
