Greetings Indies! I am wondering if there is a natural substitute for Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS). I want to make bath fizzies without using this ingredient. Is this possible, and if so how does it affect the end product?
Thanks everyone.

Are Apricot Kernal Meal and Apricot Seed Powder the same thing? I want to make a few scrub recipes that have this ingredient. Thanks.

Ok, I will try it and I will let you if it works out. I will slice the whole piece into smaller pieces and give it a try and I'll let you know the outcome... ; )

Victoria, yes you can add loofah powder to scrubs. I have never tried to powder loofah in a food processor. If you try it, make sure and feel the powder to make sure there are no jagged edges to tear the skin.

Nickola, an easy emulsifier to add is palm stearic acid.

Can you add loofa as an ingredient in body scrubs? If so, I am wondering if you could make your own loofa powder by cutting up a regular loofa and processing it through the food processer blades or if you would suggest not to do that. Thanks.

Hi Joan,

Thanks so much for the tips! I have a question... what emulsifier would you recommend for scrubs?

Joan, I just read your comment on natural colorants. It is one of the most clear explanations for what is and what is not allowed as far as coloring cosmetics that I have ever read! Thank you for clearing up what is obviously an FDA regulation many cosmetics formulators are unaware of! Great work! Sue
