Tips and suggestions for using custom boxes to package your soap

Hi everyone!

I found this brief but informative article about packaging your soap at one of our Sponsor websites. Thought I'd share it here since I see a lot of handmade soap packaged nicely, but not in a sturdy way. Sometimes, by the time I get it, the package may be ripped or the colored tissue paper has stained the soap. Great soap for me, but to get into a retail store, not so much!

Here's the text of the article.

Whether its custom retail boxes or other printed packaging, how you package and what's on your packaging will play a large part in how successful your product will be in the market. More often than not, the retail box is your only salesperson in the store. Your packaging has to do a lot – it needs to attract attention, be convincing, and ultimately sell your soap. This is not an easy feat considering the competition vying for your customers. Printed soap boxes are a quick, easy, and attractive way to get your product noticed.

So, how can custom soap boxes improve your business?

Allow you to define your product the way you want consumers to see it.
Boxes give you more real estate to get your message out.
Increase the perceived value of your soaps.
Boxes make it easier to create attractive packaging that stands out from the competition.
Retailers tend to display more attractive packaging in prime selling locations.
Allow you to brand your product and create a cohesive family of products.
Because of how printed boxes are coated, they keep their fresh look despite continuous handling.
Boxes make product fulfillment quick and easy, thus lowering overall costs.

This may be too expensive an option for many soapmers when they first start out, but it is an expense you can save up for and order them when you can. You can charge more for the soap and a custom branded box makes an elegant presentation.
