Hello Indies,
I just wanted to alert you all to what looks like a scammer trying to get some free stuff!
I've received the following e-mail at least 4 times from a Tracie Robson:
Hello,
I am interested in some of your items , but will like to know how long it will take to deliver items to Slovenia as that is the destination. More also i will like to confirm what kind of Credit
Card do you accept as form of payment? Kindly get back to me with answer to my inquiry and don't forget to include your updated website link for me to browse through. And if you never ship international you have no problem because i have a liable shipper that will come for the pick up.
God Bless
When I replied with the payment types I offer, I got a response with a sizeable order, like 25 of 10 different full size products. But she wanted it shipped with her "special" shipping agency who's contact info was a hotmail address (yeah right). Once I replied that I would not be contacting any shipper with a hotmail address, I heard nothing back except for the same canned e-mail above.
Watch out ladies. If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!

I received the same type of email. I googled the contents and it listed all the variations of the same email. So yes it is a scam.

Permalink Reply by Tammy Brodbeck, Milk and Cookeez on July 27, 2011 at 10:06am HI Lorraine, I received the same one this am. I have also received 2 others in the past 3 weeks from a person in Australia.
In reply to Sara, They said the same to me about the website.
I had another one in June. Ordered a Gift Cert with a stolen credit card. Didn't look suspicious when they placed the gift cert order, as they had the address, right zip code, and all the CC info including the 3 digits on back. But when they placed an order using the Gift Cert Code...all the alarms went off!
Gift Cert ordered under man's CC, for a woman. Woman places an order and wants it sent to a MAN in the Philippines!
I checked the IP address for both the original order and the product order. NEITHER IP address was in the state of the CC holder! Plus the phone number went to another guy.
So..thats 4 people in this one order. SCAM.
Weird thing is, I immediately contacted Discover to let them know their customer CC info had been obviously compromised, and I immediately refunded the customer card. BUT....they still filed a chargeback! Arrgghhh

I received a long spammy request this morning, via my "Facebook profile," so they said. The spammers are definitely hard at work, always!

Got one too. The tip off is, supposedly they are on your website right? Which in most cases shows the form of payment offered. Also shipping methods and locations to where you ship, at least I do.... and why would they need an updated link if they are supposedly on your website?
LOL Good one!
