Recently I purchased 4 ounces of body butter for $50. I opened it up and it was filled with mold. The brand is a high end spa line, well known and has been around awhile.
I contacted the company and was shocked how they handled the situation. Since they were so complacent about the matter and not cooperative to immediately replace the product, I became concerned.
Companies like this create a bad reputation and can hurt those of us in this industry that are conscientious and do what it takes to prevent mold and bacteria.
Companies like this also hurt themselves. They don't realize how important it is to reassure the customer. I have told numerous people about this experience and the brand of the product. I used to admire their products and philosophy. Not anymore, I will never buy a product from this company again. They lost a good customer. I spent over $350 on other products besides this body butter.
A cosmetic chemist told me I should send it to the FDA. What are your thoughts?
