Indie Beauty Supporting Our Troops
I came up with a great idea to give back to our soldiers in Iraq for Christmas!
I have some close friends here in Idaho that started a foundation called the Warriors Promise Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on giving back to our soldiers (and families) who serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. In talking with them this past week they said the soldiers would love our creative handmade products.
So my idea is that each Indie member who wants to show appreciation to our soldiers for their sacrifice can donate one product or several products, up to you. Mail me your products by Nov. 30. I will pack everything up and hand deliver to the Warrior Promise Foundation here in Eagle, Idaho. I’m donating Body Butters knowing the climate is so dry over there. For supporting our troops in turn they will link your website and company name to the Warriors Promise Foundation website, so we will need your full company name along with your website address, just include your business card or info in your package. What a way for us to give back to say Thank You for our Freedom. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have. The Warriors website is www.warriorspromise.org

This is awesome! I'll send a box of my transparent soaps... hope they'll make a soldier's Christmas a little more enjoyable.

Thank You Jennifer, I'm sure they will. Don't forget to include your info for there website. I look forward in receiving your beautiful soaps!
Hi Jeanne,
This is a really neat idea. I have a cousin and a brother-in-law in the military right now. They are state-side for the time being. My cousin returned less than a year ago though from his 3rd tour in the Middle East. I know the men and women stationed over there will appreciate this (especially our female troops who would likely be "into" the types of products made by Indies anyway.)
I think that many people forget the necessity of bathing and personal care when they send care packages to the troops. They usually get things like letters and cookies, maybe some clothing or a new toothbrush. There are a few groups that send out quilts/afghans, hats and mittens, those sorts of things. Very few send things like soap, lotions or body scrubs.

Thanks for inspiring us! I will be sending a box soon as well.

Sounds great Rebecca ,we look forward to it, my daughter is also in the Idaho National Guard.
Hi Jeanne, Wonderful idea and I am excited to participate. Do you have any idea what products would work best for the soldiers - I am wondering if it is common practice for the troups to have their own bar soap container - the type you take bath and forth to the shower or carry with you when traveling? Does anyone know if bar soap works well for our troops. You can email me at Deb@gracefarmorganics.com

Hi Grace, I'm sure what ever you would like to send soaps, would be well appreciated from the troops.
