Last Week's Question: For the past several months, I have featured a series of Power Up! articles in the newsletter.
Each article focuses on one of my Power Up! Principles, which are useful to incorporate into your activities to nurture and
grow your business. To win this week, name each of the 8 Power Up! Principles.
Last Week's Answer: Patience, Organization, Weeding, Excellence, Recycling, Uniqueness, Perseverance, Enthusiasm
This Week's Question: During the first half of the last century, a large manufacturer of soaps and other household products
latched onto the ideas of selling their soaps by highlighting the fact that they contained only vegetable oils, and grace their
advertisements with beautiful depictions of Egyptian women engaged in various bathing rituals. To win this week, state the
well known trade name of the soap they advertised so successfully.
Be the first to correctly answer this week's question and win a Trail Boss Bar, courtesy of Donna Baase of Cowgirl Enterprises.

4. Handmade Beauty Recipe: Grape Grapefruit Face Frappe
This is another recipe I made for the friends of the Discovery Creek Children's Museum earlier this week. If you missed the first one, 1-2-3 Facial Mask, you can get that recipe here. This week's recipe is refreshing and soothing ... perfect for the 90°F weather we've been having here in Washington, DC, in the middle of April!! The grapefruit essential oil is optional, but it's not the same without it!
Grape Grapefruit Face Frappe* (makes about 4 applications)
10 ripe, seedless grapes (green, grape and/or red will do)
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon sour cream
3 tablespoons finely powdered oats
5 drops pink grapefruit essential oil (optional. you can also use white
grapefruit essential oil)
Process 9 of the grapes, honey and sour cream in small food processor until almost liquid. Add oats and mix again to form
a smooth paste. If mixture is too runny, add more oats. If too thick, add more liquid (either water or a bit more sour
cream). Add essential oil last and mix with a spoon to blend in. Apply to face and neck to cleanse, or you can use it as
a soothing facial mask. Leave on for 5-10 minutes while you relax and eat the other grape! Rinse gently off. Follow with
toner and moisturizer. Best for oily skin. Enjoy!
*Cautionary note: because cold pressed citrus oils like grapefruit
attract the rays of the sun, it's best to use this goodie before bedtime to
avoid the potential for sunburn.
